WEER Seeking an Underwriting Representative
WEER, an independent, community public radio station, seeks a tenacious, outgoing and motivated self-starting individual to garner underwriting on the East End. Individual will be responsible for getting on-air and website underwriting.
Preferable Qualifications:
*Strong knowledge of media underwriting/ad marketing
*Previous advertising and/or media sales experience a plus
*Familiarity with public media underwriting, its philosophy, restrictions, and whom to sell it to and how
*Strong communication and negotiation skills
*Experience with establishing and building business relationships
*Experience with creating marketing strategies
*Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills
*Must have Internet, email, and telephone to conduct business
*Must be highly motivated, very organized, and able to work independently
*Must have an understanding of WEER's mission, philosophy and values
This is a commission-only independent contract position.
